The brief was to create a film about wedding jewellery, but in place of being put on, this time it was jewellery coming off on the ‘first night’. The basic idea was to have them take off jewellery in a choreographed manner.
Soon, the idea evolved into the fact that the first night is also the night when the centres of power are defined for life. So as the jewellery came off the centres of power changed and warmth was found.
Details like having the girl hold on to a full glass of milk throughout to hint at her precarious situation, the boy taking the jewellery off without touching her, and her poking fun at the boy helped the film achieve a high recall value. It also managed to gather a fair bit of controversy.
